Our plan and a major part of the Gulf to Gulf ride is to travel from north to south via the Birdsville Track. But after torrential downpours in southwest Queensland a few months ago, the Track is cut at Cooper Creek by waters flowing towards Lake Eyre. And it's not just a wimpy creek -- it's 3 metres deep over the road!
But all is not lost. To keep the Track open you can now cross the flooded Cooper Creek by a punt service in the middle of the desert. We're hoping that the the waters will have subsided enough by September not to disrupt the trip -- but not so much that we can't travel by boat in the desert.

The Gulf to Gulf Mission
We’re riding Gulf to Gulf to help bridge the poverty gulf among the poor children of Bangladesh. Won't you ride with us from the comfort of your computer and consider making a donation? We're riding from the Gulf of Carpentaria to the Spencer Gulf , via the Birdsville Track. Check out the route map at the bottom of the page.
We want to raise $10,000 to fund the education (up to Year 2) for 1 year for 600 children in
